Mihai de la Verte

Mihai showed up at his father’s forge one year after a youthful indiscretion by his father. Lacking a family and acknowledging his responsibility to the child, he took Mihai in. The blacksmith dutifully raised Mahai. Relations between the two were never warm, nor were the hostile. They simply…were.

Mihai grew up as an outsider in his village. He had no affinity for his father’s craft, but he did have a boundless curiosity. Mahai learned to sneak, to knife-fight, to follow a trail, and to divine the future. He picked up some nature lore and some familiarity with the wrong side of the law. Somehow, he managed to stay out of just enough trouble to not be hauled before a magistrate.

In his 15th year, Mahai returned from an extended wilderness trip to find his father dead, the smithy burned, and the village decimated by bandits. Mahai attached himself to the posse raised to pursue the bandits and assisted with their defeat. With nothing to tie him to the village and a new-found desire to punish criminals, Mahai gave into his natural wanderlust, taking up the job of thief-taker.

Mahai stands 5’8” with a lithe build. He has tan skin, dark auburn hair, and deep blue eyes.
