Personally, I don't mind a horrible joke every now and again, but having someone repeat the same bad joke, or continue telling me a bad joke when I tell them to stop... that annoys me.
Tangent: if someone offers up an anecdote and I say I'm really not interested in hearing it, why do they always tell it anyways? I wasn't joking; I seriously wasn't interested in hearing about x topic at this point in time. I'm just old and crochety enough now that I no longer care about hurting someone's feelings if I genuinely have no interest in some gross story or extraneous piece of gossip.
