He bled dirty red wine, and I drank gin as the miles grew thick between us

Every other day or so, I open a tab to livejournal and start trying to compose an entry; then I think, "Nah, no one wants to hear about that," and close it again. And in this manner, nothing ever gets written ( Read more... )

I weep for all those half-written entries...

Actually, I can't quite wrap my head around the annual game of watermelon polo. The way I understand it, your whole family consists of lifeguards, swimming coaches and ex-swim team members, and despite the mental and physical trauma it causes, you just keep doing it year after year... Gosh, now that I think of it, doesn't that sound like the traditional Christmas sauna at my aunt Evas! Haha, heh, hum...
I can only wonder what anything called "the Raft Night" would entail making it worse than an all out battle in the water with a watermelon.

Looking forward to hearing what you've been up to. And also to whatever you have to say about Hetalia, though slightly less so. As in, my fascination is mingled with dread.

Happy belated Independence Day and hope your life'll let up a little.

I usually paste whatever I've written and not posted in a spare word file, so it's not like they disappear forever. I cannibalize bits of them for usage in later entries ( ... )

I just try to be funny most of the time. If I don't think I'm funny enough, I don't post it.

Clearly, you have not ridden down the right water slide yet. Ideally, it should be a good experience, not a drowning one.

Heh. Well, I just figured if it was a fandom you definitely didn't like, I would warn you ahead of time not to read the entry, since I don't like starting to read entries that are about topics I don't like or care about. Just didn't want to harsh anyone's squee or deliberately irritate.

Edit: I forgot-- email me your name, and I'll add you. I usually try to keep my facebook separate from lj, but I don't mind putting you on.
No, it doesn't creep me out! (Well, not much. Heh.) Mostly, they amuse me, because I know you are not really a creepy stalker. You're always very funny when you talk about it. And the fact you're actually going to Japan just makes it better.

I dunno, a good drowning experience seems the best I can hope for from a water slide. We went back to the place where I nearly drowned a while back, and I was told they'd taken out the bit of the slide that almost cost me my life ( ... )

Aww. If you ever come to America, I will take you to a non-drowning water slide.

Yeah, swimmers do ten to look kinda alike once the caps and goggles are on and they're not wearing anything. I should post about the championships coming up. Those should be a blast. And I'm glad you understand how I feel about the journal turf. I've had a few bad experiences there, so I tend to be overly cautious.

I got it. I'll add you. I can't wait to read about your adventures in Japan.

I'm going to have to hold you on that.

Rather than that it's probably the fact that I never encounter most of those swimmers anywhere outside your lj... I've seen Phelps in the paper and Thorpe on Australias Next Top Model, and them I recognize, but every other swimmer... I can't remember even one name. But I still enjoy reading about them.
That's actually very surprising. What the hell...

I'm rather hoping that the weirdest part of the adventure will be documented on lj, though not because I've cultivated an internet persona completely unlike my day persona or anything like that...
