I dunno, a good drowning experience seems the best I can hope for from a water slide. We went back to the place where I nearly drowned a while back, and I was told they'd taken out the bit of the slide that almost cost me my life.

Nah, there's probably no fandom I wouldn't be interested in, whether I like it or not. I'm not one to tell people I hate what they like (not strictly true, since I'm in fact quite a dickhead) or at least not on the net (because while irl it's possible to be bitchy and rely on ones boyish charm, it doesn't work that well in an lj comment). Your style's massively entertaining; it's enough to entice me to read through your entries about swimmers I can't even tell apart from each other most of the time, like you may have noticed. And I'm easily swayed by a convincing argument.
I've heard there're people who can't really fathom that a persons journal, while public, is still that persons turf. A while ago I read about all hell breaking loose when someone commented on a post about the poster missing her late mother with something along the lines of "if my mother died I'd pop the champagne".
Was this my roundabout way of saying "post about Hetalia already", or just me rambling like I always do, I don't know.

...I'm glad you find my anguish amusing. I think going there rather takes something out of it, though. I'm somewhat worried that on my own, i.e. with no one curbing my weirdness, it'll be like 3 a.m. all the time for a year, and I'll end up littering my FB with pictures of Tokubetsushitsus front door taken in varying degrees of candidness, all titled "the gates of heaven"... Haha, hum...

Yeah, swimmers do ten to look kinda alike once the caps and goggles are on and they're not wearing anything. I should post about the championships coming up. Those should be a blast. And I'm glad you understand how I feel about the journal turf. I've had a few bad experiences there, so I tend to be overly cautious.

Rather than that it's probably the fact that I never encounter most of those swimmers anywhere outside your lj... I've seen Phelps in the paper and Thorpe on Australias Next Top Model, and them I recognize, but every other swimmer... I can't remember even one name. But I still enjoy reading about them.
That's actually very surprising. What the hell...

I'm rather hoping that the weirdest part of the adventure will be documented on lj, though not because I've cultivated an internet persona completely unlike my day persona or anything like that...
