I too love horses, I am just mildly (read: very) surprised when they show up outside my office window. Which is next to a gas station. Not so much a familiar place to find horses.
Yeah, some guy with a trailer let it come out of its trailer thing for soem reason. Guess he wanted it to have a drink or stretch its legs. It was just sort of standing there by my window, no tether. (They just left.)
Awww! I wish you luck! I used to do riding lessons, I always had fun.
I'll see your horse and raise you an elephant.kaitou1412June 16 2006, 19:23:50 UTC
One time my dad and I were in Kansas City...I think I was 7. At my school you had to donate a book to the library on your birthday. So on our vacation, Dad was taking me to a bookstore to buy the Disney picture book that went with 'The Aristocats' (That's Cats, not Crats, v. different movie).
We stopped at a red light...and saw an elephant walking down the street. All by itself. No trainer, no clowns, no zoo official, nothing. Just walking on the sidewalk. And none of the pedestrians, or other drivers seemed surprised by this at all. Then the light turned green and we drove away. I confirmed this with my dad a few years ago to make sure I wasn't just making this up.
A horse is a horse of course, of coursethorne_scratchJune 16 2006, 19:31:20 UTC
Hee! That's awesome! Yeah, elephant outclasses horse, no question. In my defense, when I heard the whinny and turned my head, the horse and I were only, like, two feet away from each other. Separated only by a window pane. It was surreal.
The mysterious elephant, though. That sounds so intriguing, the way it wasn't from a circus or anything. Maybe this sort of thing just happens all the time in Kansas City.
I think somebody should make a film about this. Well, about having a job with a window across the street from the gas station. Think of all the drama! A kid gets left behind, a suspect stops who's fleeing from the law, A HORSE LOOKS IN THE WINDOW.... This has got potential, I'm tellin' you. It could always start in the office, maybe have a little profound (and hilarious) voiceover from your perspective, then look out the window and zoom into the story of the day, following whoever it was around.
The gas station is actually next door to me; there's a Burger King across the street. At first I had this wild thought that perhaps the horse had escaped from the Burger King and that I was NEVER GOING TO EAT HAMBURGERS FROM THERE AGAIN.
But I think we should do this film. I'm already picking out a director and soundtrack guy.

Maybe a car/float stopped at the gas station and they wanted to let the horse stretch its legs or something?
One day I am going to own a horse and I will be very happy :3
