Just got home from library/grocery shopping. My hold on season 2 of Heroes wasn't in yet; oh well, looks like I'll have to stream it instead. People on the intarwebz tell me that the show starts to go downhill during season two, but oh well, I love Heroes too much to care right now. The bad news is that I also had to return the first season today. After only a week, too! I was looking forward to re-watching the first season's episodes... blech. At least this means I'll be able to focus on schoolwork tomorrow. Tomorrow I have to start back... there's no escaping it. My first semester's subjects are Art and English, which are my favourites, so at least it shouldn't be too painful. Getting to legitimately screw around and sketch on school time is always fun.
In other, totally unrelated news, I'm just slowly coming around to realizing HOW FREAKING AWESOME, WICKED BADASS
ZACHARY QUINTO IS. When I saw him in the new Star Trek movie this summer, I'd heard his name tossed around although wasn't really familiar with his work, but he earned about +500,000 awesome points for his performance in Star Trek XI. His acting alone brought an incredible amount of emotional depth to what would surely have otherwise been a throwaway summer blockbuster; good, but not great. Mister Quinto single-handedly made that movie an amazing viewing experience for me. Now that I just finished watching season one of Heroes for the first time, I'm completely star-struck with this individual. You'd think that when someone is playing a creepy mass-mudering brains-eating psychopath, you'd be a little put off by him - but I could literally not help but feel sorry and sympathize with him the entire time. (Kind of like Heath Ledger's Joker!)
So basically, yeah. I'm now a Zachary Quinto fangirl. Proof: I've put this community:
quinto_daily on my watchlist.
Zachary Quinto's total accumulated Awesome Points: 1,000,000
Star Trek XI (Spock): +500,000
Heroes: +500,000
Realizing how in awe I am of Mr Quinto gave made me want to see Star Trek 09 again really, really badly, but since the DVD isn't out yet, I had to settle for going back and rereading
my one (and only) Star Trek 09 fanfic. After publishing the sixth chapter, I got really, really sidetracked and kind of dropped it in spite of the fact that it's my most popular published piece of fanfiction to date, but rereading it really made me want to start writing it again! The only problem is I'm not sure I'll be able to catch the essence of Quinto's Spock, since it's been so long since I saw the movie - besides, like I said, school is coming up, so I may just want to hold off for the time being.
I'm pretty sure everyone who was reading that story hates me by now, anyways. xD
Oh yeah, I went to bed on time last night (for once) but woke up at four AM because it was freaking hot and I'd left my bedroom window wide open and the wind started doing that weird thing where it makes my door open and close, which really scared the crap out of me, and it screwed up my REM cycle after that and made me have all these totally trippy dreams. None of them were worth remembering, sadly. I feel like I've been running on empty all day long.
