Oh, another day is gone...
I'm pretty bummed that summer is almost over.
Just got back from an afternoon walk with Sissy. My hair is now hopelessly frizzy and I feel all damp because it's still hot out, but that aside, it's still a nice day. There's a purple-blue breeze outside and a lense-flare sun - very poetic kind of day. The kind of day that inspires you to write, in fact - if I had any inspiration. (*Melodramatic sigh*) The walking path in our new neighbourhood is very lovely. It's quiet, secluded, shielded by trees on both sides, and doubles as a bicycle path. There are lots of plants there I've never even seen before, and I've already spotted two species of birds I've never seen before in my life. One bird I saw today had a yellow body and black wings. The day that we moved into our new house, while Mom and Dad were still busy getting more furniture from our old house, Sissy and I spotted a whole little flock of these biggish, fat brown birds poking around in the neighbour's backyard, as if they were holding a scavenger hunt in the yellowgreen grass and the weeds. Dad said they were quail. (Hm. Sounds about right.)
...I remember this Curious George book I had when I was younger, Curious George Learns the Alphabet, I think, and it had "Q" is for "quail", and quails are very shy - or so it said. Tom Hanks had the exact same book in Forrest Gump, and ever time I see that movie playing on TV, with Forrest putting his feather between the flaps, it always brings back childhood memories...
When Sis and I were hiking back up the driveway, a big fat grasshopper leaped out in front of her, clicking his wings like crazy. He made a big fuss at Sis for almost stepping on him and flew away.
My joke fandom secret about Heath Ledger's Joker and Hannah Montana being my ONE TWU PAIRING got posted today. At first I thought they weren't going to post it at all since it is so obviously for the lulz, but it turns out that I fail and secrets get posted a week after they're submitted. The good news: I gave a few people a good laugh. The bad news: I think I have way too much time on my hands. Also, I may be an attention-seeker. But neither of those things are new, so.
I'm a little over halfway through the T:SCC fanfic I'm beta-reading right now. The guy who sent me his first chapter (I don't know his name yet) says he's not a native English speaker (I'm guessing he's German, since his e-mail address looks German), but his English is better than that of some native speakers. xP I have to get that finished by the end of this weekend.
Also, I STILL NEEDA GET/MAKE MOAR ICONS. But I dislike using other peoples' icons and I can't be arsed to make any. Oh, what a paradox I find myself in.
