TV or not TV

$$$ has been tight since almost-roommate #2 flaked on me via email, after signing a lease with me for my 3rd bedroom. I haven't had any luck finding someone to replace her yet.

Enter sister #2 (the younger of my 2 sisters) & her husband. I'm closer to them than anyone else in my family. They are insisting, mas o menos, that I take this 42" plasma flat-screen tv off their hands, for free (was going to the teen living with biological mom in Hawaii, long story why it isn't now). It's really nice.

I'm divided on how I feel about this. It would be nice to watch films on a big screen, but I do okay now - I watch a lot of Hulu & Netflix streaming, on a 23" computer monitor, which is at the large end size-wise for monitors. Anyway, I haven't owned a tv in at least 15 years, and it's been 12 years since I had one in the house. Even before Hulu & Netflix existed, I really didn't miss it. When that fact dawned on me, it was a huge shocker - in my tv days, I imagined I'd miss it a great deal, like a smoker has to have a cigarette. The reality is I can't remember ever missing it. Ever.
