Day 21: A song that makes you want to break stuff.
I do love metal, especially the thrash metal of the late 80's and early 90's that fostered my teenage rebellion (that came after I was a teenager). Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth.
But that stuff really doesn't make me want to break stuff despite its screaming vocals and ridiculous speed. It makes me sort of happy. I often use it on the iPod to keep my motivation when I run.
The music that makes me want to break stuff is a combination of angry, heavy, and probably fast music mixed with political lyrics. It's easy to be angry and righteous when you're young and ready to take on the world, but as you get older and more comfortable, the way to truly stay making angry music is to be political, to see the injustice in the world and scream about it.
One of the bands that I think did this best was Rage Against the Machine. And this song and video do a great job raising the blood pressure.
