Bon Jovi still rocks!

Last night, rosepurr and my friend Stacey (who drove down from L'ville) and I went to the Sommet Center (where the Nashville Predators play) and saw Bon Jovi. I saw them twenty years ago, on the "New Jersey" tour and they rocked then. They rock even more now. It was a great show, hitting all the high points, lots of energy, an enthusiastic crowd. Just plain good stuff. We danced and sang and swayed and laughed. Good times.

One of the advantages of living in Nashville is that so many people play here. Relatedly, during the Bon Jovi show, at various points, both Big and Rich and Leann Rimes showed up to join the band. The crowd loved it and clearly Bon Jovi had a great time playing with them. The Tennessean web site has a solid recap of the show. (The Tennessean sucks except for entertainment-related news, and even then, it's mediocre.)

When I saw Bon Jovi twenty years ago, Skid Row opened for them. This time around, it was Daughtry. His self-titled band is full of very talented musicians and Daughtry himself has a great rock voice. While they have some decent songs, I think the band needs to come together a bit. That's not harsh criticism, though. They just need time to grow. In the meantime, they were good and loud and rocking.

So my ass is dragging today, but that's just fine. :)
