Playdates
I'm pretty sure our house is totally boring for Aislin's friends. Here's why:
1. I don't work very hard at all at entertaining them. Isn't that why they're here, after all? To play with my child and keep her occupied so I can catch up on Glee episodes and following obscure news stories on the internet? I intervene if they are ganging up on Eilie or inflicting physical harm on each other, but I don't organize crafty projects or board games.
2. All Aislin likes to do is draw and cut things out of paper. As such, we don't have a surfeit of toys. We have limited space in the apartment so we make an effort to keep the toy detritus to a minimum. Our dining room table is covered in bits of paper, stickers, markers, and bats made out of construction paper and straws all the time. But that's the trade off for not being buried in toys with a jillion tiny bits.
3. We don't have Wii, Nintendo, or any child-friendly game system. We do have a wooden train set. They can play with that!
