One and a half more hours, and then I can get back to my book. Heh. Life? What life?
One of my friends just got a sheltie puppy, and this is what she wrote to me: I'm happy every day to get out of bed because I know I'll get to see her!!!
That brightened my day; isn't it lovely? Oh, puppies.
I'm not getting Campbell, the kitten, btw. I thought about it, and it would be better for everyone if I don't try to cram one person plus three cats into a small apartment next year. Besides, there's a long list of people interested in adopting Campbell. She's s celebrity! She gets mail, and we've had enough donations to cover her surgery. (She's doing great. She had her amputation and was spayed on Thursday, and is now recovering at the home of a veterinarian who's fostering another of our cats.) I don't know if any of you contributed and I don't really need to know, but if you did, thank you. The shelter hardly has any money, but it can't turn its back on a cat in need. Campbell would have died; now she gets to have a long, happy life as someone's beloved companion.
One hour and twenty minutes. Ack, I want to go home. The office is air conditioned, but I can still feel the humidity.
