The Face of Boe?? Jack??? What the fucking fuck?!?!?!?!?
That one had me howling. It's so obviously the Big Darned Thing About Jack that John Barrowman's been hugging to himself since forever. Yet again, it proves that the Doctor Who team can't (and shouldn't) do ageing makeup. It makes the pretty things look bug-ugly!
Having said that though, I rather like it, or at least the way that they brought it into play. It's not a cast-iron certainty, just a possibility and a coincidence that has occurred to the Doctor and Martha in a "could he be?" "nah, no way" "but could he?" kind of way. And I noted that they carefully didn't inform Jack of their speculative thoughts, so he can go blithely on into the next season of Torchwood with no more sense of his own ultimate destiny than he already has as a man who can't die.
There wasn't nearly enough Jack over those three episodes of Doctor Who though. Which is really rather tragic, because I fell for him all over again while he was guest-starring and am desperately hoping that he doesn't go
( ... )
I thought that maybe Lucy shot the Master at his request (or whatever) at first, but then why was she wishing for the Doctor along with everyone else? I guess she still might have.
*sigh* I wish their relationship had been more loving, the way it was in the beginning. I like my villains to be more human, even when they're not strictly human, and that often translates into having genuine affection for another human being.
I think RTD has said that Jack is definitely the Face of Boe, but even so, until it's shown on-screen, I think we can interpret the revelation however we want.
Oh, Jack. Now I'm getting decapitation bunnies. Poor thing. But he gets to witness so much and save New New York! He dies saving kittens! That rocks my socks.
Being the Face explains how he knew there was another Time Lord out there at the beginning of the season. But the whole episode was WTF?
Yep, Lucy definitely had a bruise and was acting squirrelly when out of the Master's line of sight.
Martha was fantastic, wasn't she? Finally made the girl useful. If I were her, I would have told the Doctor how vile he was to her when she was human. It was a good decision for her to leave. Maybe the Doctor will come to my house next.
When the Doctor was human, I meant. He made a racist comment to her, and then he wasn't that great to the students either. Remember he authorized beating Boy-Who-Stole-Pocketwatch because he was distracted during shooting practice?

I did like warrior!savingtheearth!Martha.
I wish Jack had stayed, of course. Torchwood isn't worth it, John! Really! (Okay, so it probably is, but come baaaaaak!)
As for the rest, I really don't have enough WTF??!! stored up in order to even try to discuss it.

I don't think he was vile to her. He took her for granted, sure. But vile?
