An estimated 10,000 people were killed by a tsunami that swept South Asia yesterday. Among the places hit was Koh Pukhet, in Thailand, where littleguineapig and I spent a few days back in March of 2003. It was so beautiful there, and right now I'm just going through my photographs, and my heart is just aching. There were villages built on stilts just a few feet above the water. We visited one, and I remember thinking it seemed so delicate. I was almost afraid to run down the slatted "streets". It must be gone, now. God, and we complain about what we did and didn't get for Christmas. >_<
