I canceled my travel plans for the weekend. I was just so brain-fried after last week, the thought of dealing with holiday traffic made me want to curl up in a fetal position. I woke up too early this morning, but I managed to be somewhat productive. I did laundry and some cleaning. The little rug I got for my kitchen seems to have bled, since the vinyl has turned pink in places. Crap. Any ideas for how to fix that? It's too bad; I like the rug. Maybe I can find something to put under it. I should have washed it before I laid it on the vinyl, but I wasn't thinking.
It's not hot, but it's very humid, so it feels hot. It's supposed to rain all weekend, but there's an art festival in one of Keene's many parks, which I might check out tomorrow. My cat sitter also mentioned peach-picking as an option. There's a peach orchard about fifteen minutes away, and that's something I can do in the rain.
I'm watching "The White Queen," which I'm mostly enjoying. Actually, I only have three episodes left. The pacing seems a little off at times, I don't like Edward, and there isn't nearly enough Richard - but I'm enjoying hearing this story from the POV of the women, particularly Elizabeth (toward whom I'm warming), Anne, and Isabelle. (Not Margaret. She makes me want to punch things.) This show is reviving my obsession deep interest in the War of the Roses. I wonder if there'll be Yuletide fic. (I know what I want. Richard/Anne = OTP. Uh, for now. We'll see how this thing wraps up. I mean, I know what happened historically, but I don't know what version of history the show writers will use.)
