No rain yet, but it's gotten dark and windy. My school will be closed tomorrow, which is a relief.
Last night I went to a Halloween party in Baltimore. I went as a Binder Full of Women:
Lovely fall colors at Antietam Battlefield.
Burnside Bridge, formerly known as Lower Bridge. This is where the Union Army - under Gen. Burnside - finally broke through the enemy line, I think. Anyway, the Union took the bridge, which was a big deal. In the foreground on the left you can see the trunk of Witness Sycamore, which - as the name implies - witnessed that part of the battle. I've taken a sudden interest in historic trees.
The Potomac River, as we drove toward West Virginia.
Harpers Ferry, WV. This is where the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers meet. It's also where John Brown staged his uprising. It's very pretty.
