Yeah, they give pound animals some really dumb names sometimes. Our boy cat's pound name was Lomez. Now it's Puff!

I'm not sure where Lloyd got his name. I got him at the Humane Society, but he'd been transferred from another shelter - no idea why - a couple of months before. He as already two years old when he came to that first shelter, so I don't even know where he's from originally. My kitty has mysterious origins.

But, yeah. When I volunteered at a cat shelter a few years ago, the intake coordinators came up with some really stupid names.

When I volunteered at a shelter, I totally commandeered the new-resident name board for that reason. They kept giving them terrible names. ... Granted, the names I gave them confused people and made for a lot of O.o faces, but I got to be secretly amused, at least.

I know, right? Said my vet, "This cat is not a bottom feeder!" D'awww. (I have a small crush on the vet.)

I only ever got to name one cat when I volunteered at a shelter: Madeleine.

The intake coordinators gave the cats some awful names. One time, we accepted two kittens, whom we - they, rather - named Pot and Kettle. But then Kettle was adopted first and we were left with Pot. O_o
