so, recently in English class we read Rime of the Ancient Mariner. I read it my junior year of high school but didn't really read it all that closely (in fact, I don't even think I read most of it), and I grew to appreciate it a whole lot more this semester. I thought I would give you guys a link to the poem so maybe you can gain some appreciation for it also.
http://eserver.org/poetry/ancient-mariner.html Later versions (including the one I read) had annotations to the side every few lines to explain what was going on, but I thought the poem would probably be better if just read straight through. Plus, most of the stuff that the annotations said was obvious anyway.
And, to sweeten the deal, I'll include a link to Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Iron Maiden. Cool song, and I think reading the poem makes the song a lot better.
