Quickie post on no cook "refrigerator" oatmeal

I ate the other half of the batch this morning, and it was just as good as yesterday. So sitting made in the fridge for 24 hours extra doesn't hurt it at all. In fact, I liked the walnuts better this time, they seemed more a part of the oatmeal than something just tossed on top ( Read more... )

I made some last night, just with rice milk instead of almond (since, allergies), and maple syrup instead of sweetener and maple extract, and without raisins. You're right, it's so good!

Yay I'm glad you liked it too! Seems very adaptable, I bet lots of little changes would work. (Say, flavored yogurt or different fruit.)

Agreed! I don't know if my banana will make it to Sunday night, so it's good to know that I can make it earlier and just store it in the fridge.

I kinda want to try Alton Brown's slow cooker oatmeal because these winter mornings are so cold! Thought I'd share it with you, we can see who makes it first ! ;-)

Mmm that looks good! I've had success making oatmeal in my slow cooker. One day I'll give it a try! :)
