I have had a really fantastic day. The weather is just gorgeous. The sun is hot, but the humidity that had plagued us earlier in the week is gone, leaving the air tolerable. I am wearing a long sleeved linen shirt and a skirt and feel perfect.

I finally found the internet cafe with phone cards that Jess recommended. The card was not for Handis, so I stopped by Viktor's to use their phone. The Fleischer boys, however, were not answering their door. Hmmm... I was sort of hoping they would be because I gave Viktor some articles yesterday and I wanted to know if he had read them yet.

There was a Flohmarkt spread over the church courtyard. I went to the Thaliastrasse U-Bahn station to use a payphone for the phone card, but I think I messed up the country code, because I kept reaching a German firm. Gumpendorferstrasse on the U6 is more sketchy, but Thaliastrasse is pretty bad. I'm sure the bathrooms there get used for purposes legalized in Wien.

I wasn't sure what to think of myself after just drinking corporate coffee and using a corporate internet cafe. Am I truly enjoying the Viennese experience? Then I forgave myself; the last two Viennese coffees I've had at cafes were terrible. One was at the Volksgarten (Piaristin Kirche) and the other was, surprisingly, at Cafe Sperl. At least with corporate coffee, I knew what I was going to get.

Tonight is Il Barbiere at the Staatsoper. It's a strangely placed single performance (I think). Florez is not singing..too bad. I need to use this newly acquired phone card.

I have a week left. I need to do a little singing before the big party. I guess the mayor will be there?!
