Yes, I Am Talking To You About BREASTS.

I am currently wearing a 36B-sized bra. A simple magenta one with no pads and no wires, to stir your imagination a little bit more.

Did you think about Breast Cancer today? I am relating this to the viral going around Facebook: a meme that is now very popular on the social networking site where women post their bra colors because it apparently ( Read more... )

Because men are fathers, husbands, brothers and boyfriends of women they might lose to breast cancer.

The Facebook meme may be stirring up more intrigue than information but it's always relevant to note how the Internet is effective for these kinds of gimmicks. :)

I think it would have been more effective if they posted a link to a Breast Cancer website. I commend people who have participated in the fad and then made an effort to connect it to something Breast Cancer related.

I admit that I could be a slacktivist too that is why I want people to think of Breast Cancer when I mention my bra and not just my breasts.

I also thought they were talking about Panties at first and the first thing I checked was whether it was underwear day somewhere.

with a post title like this, i HAD to comment.

it's just good marketing. i read this post. my curiosity was piqued. i'm not going to be starting a foundation for breast cancer, but hey. i am but one of the many men this little fad will reach. it's a numbers game.

I am not denying the fact that it is indeed good marketing.

But marketing for what? And who started the trend? (I know the second question isn't too important but you have to ask yourself who or what this fad benefits). Yes, it benefits cancer but how? To make people more aware that a lot of people are dying with cancer?

I understand that it proves a point but it stops and that's what bothers me. Also. Wouldn't it be more "sincere" that people then link a fund or anything cancer-related to their bra colors?

It has to make people go beyond the color, go beyond the breasts and think (and hopefully do something) about breast cancer. If it does not, then I do not see the point.

enough awareness leads to movement. this is just another way of generating that awareness. it's not the end all be all, but it helps. that's are my two cents. and just like two cents, it's not worth that much :)
