I am a vampire. Sunlight is my mortal enemy until the end of September. My rules - stick to the shadows, emerge only at night, avoid Buffy.
But seriously...the heat and humidity of Osaka is unbearable. I stand in the doorway to our apartment building in the mornings and look at the pavement burning with light, and I can't help but picture the scene in Interview with the Vampire where the sun peeps through the grate and turns Claudia to hot white ash.
I have the feeling that when I step on the pavement it will just let off a loud scream until I remove my foot.
I have become an old person. I bought shelves from IKEA the other day. I payed my health insurance and bought a new wallet. Life can become normal anywhere. I am on two weeks of paid vacation, which is really weird to me. I have no close friends but I like the people we hang out with a lot. I'm happier than I've been in a long, long time, but something is still missing.
