I'm currently on hold with Financial Aid...and if I have to listen to how great FSU is any longer I think I may just shit myself! >(
I've decided to start seriously learning Dutch in advance of this summer's trip to the Netherlands. I figure if I can keep Gretha from having to translate everything, then maybe the Dutch won't think all Americans are complete morons. We'll see if I actually have enough time to make a dent in the language or not. However, I hear tell that one of my Subway co-workers (Joe) knows Dutch...so maybe he can help me practice if we ever work together.
I'm really enjoying my classes this semester...well, mostly enjoying them. My A/P Lab instructor is kinda weird and likes to rub our lack of A/P knowledge in our faces in a strange attempt to motivate us to study, but other than that I am having a blast. My 18th Cent. Brit. Lit. class is neat so far. Last class the professor showed us some poetry by the real-life basis of the main character in the play we're reading...here's a website if any of you are looking for a lewed 18th Cent. British poet who got kicked out of King Charles II's court for accidently letting him read a mean poem about him:
