Um. WOW.
By now many of you will have heard about the great LJ permanent journal suspensions. If you haven't, check out furiosity, painless_j or cordelia_v's LJs, as each of them has detailed and well-written explanations of what's going on.
I have two points I want to make about this:
1- Go join fandom_counts. Then scroll down on the user page and see how many members there are. Then hit refresh and watch it jump. I spent some happy time avoiding work doing that, and in less than 5 minutes I watched it gain over 100 members.
2- I wish fandom rallied around, oh, I dunno, activism against genocide in Darfur or trafficking of women and children with anything approaching this kind of fervor. Just saying.
