Hello, AU!

Aug 19, 2005 16:33

Well. I'm still jet lagged, though the three+ hour nap I just got up from did me some measure of good. Though then again it did take me a substantial amount of time to find my other Birkenstock shoe despite the fact that my room is really, really bare and should therefore be a very good place for finding things. Oh well.

My flight went well, though once I realized that it was going to be boarding a good 15-20 minutes late I began to really wish I had taken Matt D. up on his offer (sorry, Bettina, no vicarious living this flight!). Ugh. We ended up getting to DC on time, though, which was awesome. For the first time in my life I rented one of the little carts to help deal with all my luggage (which was a lot - I hate that!). Now I understand why people are always using them - they make life soooooo much easier! And so does the SuperShuttle, but I knew that one already. The driver was friendly and talkative, and though at that point I probably could have gone to sleep right there in the van I still appreciated the friendly chatter.

Rundown of my AU re-experience:

1. Floor theme: DC Metro, which is good enough for me.
2. Number of upperclassmen on the Terrace: Currently unknown. My guess is 6 or 7, including yours truly.
3. Weather: Gross. Majorly, ridiculously, annoyingly gross. But also so DC.
4. McDowell, T13: Currently bare, with bad lighting and no decorations. :-(
5. Old friends: Seen Vanessa and Manan so far. Johanna is supposed to be getting here at some point.
6. Computer: Waiting for me in my room! Sweet!!
7. Me: Here in one piece and totally, completely, wonderfully content. XD

Oh, and I have a copy of "The Nightmare Before Christmas" which I will be watching at least twice in the next week. Including once tonight. I love that movie. :-)

Things to do:
1. Update resumé
2. Find dinner
3. Sheets for bed
4. Christmas lights!!

I think that's good enough. Too many long lists will make me go crazy.
