Goodbye, Oakland!

I'm psyched. Not really about the packing, or the flying, or even about Matt D. offering to drive to the airport so that we can smoke together right before I leave (I, personally am not too keen on the idea of checking in stoned, but he made the point that I would definitely go to sleep easily - oy). But I am so, so, soooo excited about watching out my window as the plane lands in DC, and about showing up outside McDowell Hall with the knowledge that the year is just starting. And about seeing my friends. And about my new classes (even if I haven't come to a firm decision about a few of the classes I may or may not take).

In any case, it's going to be great. Since I live on a floor full of freshman (as in, to my knowledge there are only two rooms of upperclassmen, plus the RA), there will be lots of people there THIS WEEKEND. Huzzah for bonding and hanging out and not having classes or homework to worry about (yet). Also, huzzah for getting to go *back* to my boyfriend, instead of having to leave him 3000+ miles behind.

I really can't disconnect going to AU from the experience of leaving Tom last year. I wish I could get over it already - I mean, it was over a year ago. At least I'm flying this time. I think taking the train, while interesting, would have brought way too many memories back to a front and center position. Blech.

But enough. I'm leaving TODAY!!!!! And I'm not packed AT ALL!!!!!

Ugh.

In my defense I was supposed to have boxes by now, but my dad didn't actually have any at the warehouse. So we have to go get some.

However, definitely NOT in my defense is my updating my LJ right now. Riiiidiculous.

'Til next time (when I'm in DC!!!!!)...
