AHIRU, PARTNERED WEAPON → DEMON SPEAR
A charming little girl, Phoenix instantly took a shine to her from the first time they spoke. She reminds him a lot of Trucy, which is probably why Phoenix does feel a little fatherly towards her - there's just something about her fumbling and honesty that makes him like her lot. She's sweet and nice, just like the fine girl that she is on the outside and he can see that she's just as pure as she is in the inside. He's keeping an eye out for her just so he can get to know her better and hopefully care for her a bit more as well. In the aftermath of Michigan she seems well so far, and Phoenix hopes that it can go on as such.
SATOSHI 'ASH' KETCHUM, WEAPON → DEMON GLOVE
One of the thirteen guests that was kidnapped by the Witches. His bravery and determination inspired Phoenix a lot at first when he began to lose himself (and he lost himself quickly alright), but even Ash eventually lost his fire under all the things that the witches did, and he can hardly blame the teenager for that. All of them have literally been through hell and back, and he will be surprised if any of them managed to get out of this unharmed. All Phoenix can hope is that Ash isn't turning out as bad as how he's is after all of this...
One less person to worry about now, after Ash has been returned home by BREW. Phoenix is thankful, at least, that he has been relieved of his nightmares.
JOAN OF ARC, WEAPON → DEMON LONGSWORD
Perhaps in another time Phoenix would wonder just what exactly BREW operates on to bring in such people here, but right now that isn't the matter at hand - like them, she had also been brought here and pushed through things that none of them ever went through before. And like them, she has also suffered - but she still hopes for them all in spite of their plight, and that's something worthwhile. While Phoenix isn't a believer, he does feel thankful for the prayers and wishes that she sends in a bid to help them; because in a way, she's just trying to help them. And in return, he's wishing the best for her, and hopes that she can recover from this ordeal.
SUZAKU KURURUGI, WEAPON → DEMON KNIFE
One of the earliest captives, Suzaku was one of those who started to lose it quickly in the days that passed. Phoenix was still in a relative okay state of mind then, and he helped in trying to bring the other our from his own slip on sanity. All of them had suffered through the same thing, so formalities were quickly lost in the pain and agony they all had to share and face there by the Witches. It was a hell unlike any other, and they all only had each other in order to keep themselves alive and sane and together. Talking to Suzuku also helped Phoenix to keep himself in one piece too, and just like with everyone else he hopes that the other manages to get through this well.
ASANO RIN, PARTNERED MEISTER (★) → SOUL BAIT (DEAD)
One of the luckiest - or well, at least once one of the better off ones amongst them all. She fought the hardest without a doubt, and it was because of that that she's dead now. Phoenix blames himself partially for her fate; it was because he couldn't be around to support her when she most needed it did she falter and die, giving up the fight the rest of them had all barely managed to survive. Needless to say, this death will spur Phoenix on to do what he needs to do more now - in order to do his part in helping to defend the people in Death City that need this protection, be it in one form or another. And for that, he will finally let himself take a more active role in Death City and Shibusen's war against the Witches.
MEI LI WONG / TAIWAN, WEAPON → DEMON NAGINATA
Another of the many personified countries that litter across Death City - and this one is the personification of Taiwan. It surprised Phoenix a little at first to see that she was a girl, but he supposed it shouldn't be anything that all surprising. She did her best to care for him while he was still recovering from what the witches had done to him, and Phoenix is thankful for that. Truthfully, he finds it hard to see her as the country she is supposed to be - especially after all that they've been through, he does view her more as a person rather than the country she represents. But perhaps that is just him; regardless, he wishes her the best, and hopes that she gets out of this as well as possible.
...the fact that BREW has now returned her home relives Phoenix a lot more than he will ever bring himself to admit - at least, back in her world she will be safe and well, without the Witches to haunt her again.
CLOVIS LA BRITANNIA, PARTNERED WEAPON → DEMON MIRROR
It was first a friendship forged by blood and pain, as the two found themselves held captive by the Witches in Michigan. Clovis had been one of the people he talked to extensively during their stay there, and the two had bonded over their common companion Edgeworth - Clovis, having been one of the most brittle of them all, had suffered a great deal of psychological damage under the Witches and Phoenix had resolved himself to aid the other the best he could, which had in a way or another worked a little. Having been put in the same boat with him, Phoenix hardly sees Clovis as the royalty that he is, but as one who suffered hardships and considers him a close friend.
In the time now after Michigan, his steadfast friendship with Clovis remained true and they continued to aid each other emotionally as the scars refused to fade. In Clovis Phoenix simply sees a man who needs help, and help is what Phoenix is attempting to give even if unknowingly, Clovis is giving Phoenix help too. Although that help is something Phoenix refuses to acknowledge, it is there and in some small way, it is slowly making Phoenix push past where he's stuck at. In the weeks that has passed now, Phoenix has grown something of a protective streak towards Clovis, considering the other's well-being as something of a responsibility - and helping Clovis in order to distract himself from the reality of his own situation. He is a good friend though, and Phoenix is always pleased to have his company.
Recent events have also made Phoenix divulge one of his greatest secrets to Clovis, and in a way that has made things even more complicated, in a sense - but at the same time, Phoenix supposes its just how he finally sees a close companion in Clovis, and allowed himself to open up to the former prince. All he can hope is that it doesn't end up badly, and Phoenix will do his best to prevent that from happening.
UZUMAKI NARUTO, PARTNERED MEISTER (★) → FERAL SOUL
Naruto is probably one of the slightly more luckier and better off ones compared to the rest of them. His way of going around things and enthusiasm never extinguished no matter what went on, and that encouraged Phoenix to move on as well as much as he's all broken and battered inside. They've all been too scarred as it is already, so hopefully... just maybe... one of them will be better than the rest of all of them.
Recently taken back and then returned by BREW, and now a lot more older too, it seems. Three years to be exact, and it seems that after the first glance, Naruto has grown in more ways than one. It'll still take a bit to find out what that growth is, and aside from that Phoenix is somewhat interested in meeting more people from Naruto's world, just to understand their ways and logic better since he's sort of interested (then again, a lot of things interest Phoenix around here). Maybe that friend of his would be a fine start to go with...
SANDRILENE 'SANDRY' FA TOREN, WEAPON → DEMON STRING
A nice girl, and yet another one who had to go through the same horrors as the rest of them too. While they never talked so much, Phoenix is at least impressed at the amount of willpower she showed in order to push herself through this whole ordeal. And from the looks of things, she might come out of it pretty well too unlike himself - and in a way, knowing that she's going to be fine reassures Phoenix. At the very least, at least one of them is going to be okay, and not all of them are going to be so twisted and warped by this whole experience.
Returned home by BREW as well after a while, which does come as quite the relief - knowing that another one is safe makes Phoenix feel better about this whole thing.
JOHN WATSON, PARTNERED WEAPON → DEMON SWORDCANE
If circumstances had been normal Phoenix would have been amused at the prospect of somebody like John Watson existing in a place like this, but with things that have happened that amuement has long since been replaced with something between respect and gratitude. Watson was the eldest one after him, and in a way the fact that the other managed to pull through something like this really has Phoenix being impressed. On the other hand though, its clear that Watson has suffered much throughout this whole ordeal, and Phoenix is a little concerned for him... not that he doesn't need help himself, but. Forty isn't a young age, after all, and Watson went through a lot just as he did. He really just hopes that the older man manages to pull through... though then again, considering how he helped him when he had his breakdown, Phoenix supposes that he is somewhat fine.
SANO YASUYOSHI / AEON CLOCK, PARTNERED MEISTER (★) → SOUL HALT
While somewhat a strange guy and one Phoenix would have been amused by in another time and place, circumstances forced them together and made him appreciate the man, at least. In spite of everything, he's shown the tenacity and sheer willpower that let him pull though this properly. LAIN IWAKURA, PARTNERED WEAPON → DEMON COMPUTER
Noted for her apparent spilt-personality disorder which would have confused and intrigued Phoenix at another time, but by the time Lain did come about he was already half-delirious by then from everything that had happened to him and was well on his way to completely losing his sanity. Lain was one of the people who helped him make sure that he managed to still cling onto that last shred of his sanity, to keep his head straight and not utterly lose it even though he was in great danger of losing it. For that Lain has Phoenix's gratitude, and he really does hope that she pulls through from all of this - because really, all of them are already scarred and marred as it is from all that the Witches have done to them.
JONATHAN CRANE / SCARECROW, WEAPON → DEMON POISON NEEDLE GLOVE (DEAD)
Scarecrow was... well, Phoenix was used as one of his 'subjects' for his experiments in fear gas, which pretty much explains everything about how much the man detests him. Because of him, Phoenix found himself so much closer to breaking than ever before - it was only because of his own stubbornness that got him to keep himself together. Still, those experiments have done a good number on Phoenix (though he refuses to show just how badly its traumatized him) and more than ever he knows he that much closer to breaking down. Needless to say really, Phoenix is more than glad to know that he's gone, and then he'll never have to face him again.

MINAKO ARISATO, (TEMPORARY) MEISTER (★) → SOUL BFF
A bright girl, one who Phoenix finds himself at ease more often than not when he's talking to her. Minako's been nothing but pleasant, though at times her way of noticing and simply picking up on things he attempts to hide does surprise Phoenix at times. In some ways perhaps she's just like him, a person who's unknown to others even though she knows them - but their circumstances are quite different, but still Phoenix isn't sure if he could say if she's better off than he is, considering everything. That aside though, her upbeat attitude and cheerful demeanour is always quite a thing to look at, and Phoenix finds himself just a bit drawn towards her, having even opened up as few things to her already - things he wouldn't really have told Edgeworth or anybody else from his world.
In the aftermath of his first mission with Edgeworth, Phoenix now has made an arrangement with Minako to serve as her temporary (unofficial) partner as a bid for him to get stronger in his own way without having to endanger the prosecutor on the sidelines. Its a strange sort of arrangement to make for sure, but he's glad that Minako accepted it, and even moreso that she isn't asking many questions - he does appreciate the privacy that she grants him. But still its a fact that they're baring their souls to one another via resonance, so who knows how long that privacy can last...
NATE 'NEAR' RIVER, WEAPON → DEMON RUBIK'S CUBE
One of the co-owners of the agency in which Edgeworth is part of. Phoenix has only heard a bit about him from Edgeworth, and he hardly seems to be in the network at all - so Phoenix is taking it upon him to investigate as much as he can about him. Naturally, Phoenix isn't one to easily trust anybody who is coming to work with Edgeworth, especially not one who he cannot properly understand. His going to work at the Agency is for that purpose (along with keeping an eye on Edgeworth) - in order to uncover the nature of Near, and to see if he can trust the other in making sure that Edgeworth is fine if the time comes for it. Call him jaded, but Phoenix isn't about to take any chances when his Meister's safety and security is at stake. That whole surveillance system thing really bugs him as well...
LIGHT YAGAMI/ASAHI, PARTNERED WEAPON → DEMON DEATH NOTE
The other co-owner of the agency in where Edgeworth is part of, and perhaps the one who speaks even less, in a sense. Phoenix's interested in knowing him better as well, at least to see if Light is somebody he can trust in to protect Edgeworth when the time comes. Again, he's entered to work at the Agency for that purpose, alongside looking over Edgewortha as much as he can. He seems like a pretty okay chap at least, and Phoenix supposes he doesn't have to worry too much; but still, he's not the naive lawyer he used to be - the years have turned him cynical and jaded, so its going to take a while (a good long while) before he's going to trust either him or Near.
EIRÍKUR RAGNARSSON / THE REPUBLIC OF ICELAND, PARTNERED MEISTER (★) → ICY SOUL
TROLLBRO. As much as it was quite curious to be talking to the Republic of Iceland of all the nations he could be talking with, now Phoenix does find the other quite good company. He likes the other's dry with and sarcasm, and the fact that he rolls along with his own trollings is an absolute plus. He considers Iceland a good friend indeed, and does care for him quite a fair bit; its safe to say that Phoenix does consider Iceland a fine companion, and one he appreciates a fair bit. He's already gotten himself to understand more about the country (in both a literal and figurative sense) so that he can click better with the other, and it seems to be working fine so far. Hopefully they can get on even better terms in the future - Phoenix would like that very much, if only because it means he can have somebody to count on as a friend.
KURORO LUCIFER, PARTNERED MEISTER (★) → SOUL STEAL
Troll buddy, of a sort. Phoenix only had a few chances to talk with him, but he does like and appreciate the other's trolling abilities and sense of humour quite a bit - not to mention he's quite cheerful to talk to. The relationship he has with Kurapika is quite strange though... Phoenix has only just glanced the surface, but the ever-curious part of him is quite interested to delve deeper even though he knows that he really shouldn't. He'll rein himself in, but should the chance present itself you can be sure that Phoenix will try and look into it regardless.
KURAPIKA, PARTNERED WEAPON → DEMON TANTO
Again, Phoenix's only had a few times to talk to this individual, but he's already amused at the reaction that this one has. So much spazzing and flailing - it almost reminds the former lawyer of himself. Almost, because Phoenix has no real intention of thinking back about his past. The way Kurapika seems to regard Kuroro also is something Phoenix is interested in, but he isn't going to push it; still, if the chance comes before him to know more you can bet that Phoenix will be latching onto it somehow in one way or another.
ROY MUSTANG, PARTNERED MEISTER (★) → SCORCHING SOUL
One of the biggest names floating around the city, and Phoenix knows that for sure. Head of the guest-organized security force (backed by Shibusen) known as DOGS, Phoenix knows that this guy isn't one to be trifled with; something about this guy just screams military and command the same way Edgeworth himself screams pink and frills. Still, as much as Phoenix applauds the other for his work he can't help but wonder just what exactly is it that pushes this guy to do all of this. This isn't even his world or his people, so just exactly why is he making the effort to go onto such lengths? There's something under that mask that he wears, and Phoenix knows it - it takes one broken man to know another after all, as sad as that reality is.
KATSURA KOTARO, MEISTER (★) → SOUL LEADER
...an interesting sort of man, to be sure. In a way, he sort of reminds Phoenix about the liver characters he meets back in his world (especially those during his lawyer days). Though he does seem to have some form of commen sense at least... or as much as Phoenix can see anyway. He takes a fair bit of fun in rolling along with his shenanigans, and for the most part he is a rather fine chap to talk with then the time comes as well. Just a little, he's interested in knowing him better... and the logic behind that mind of his.
SETA SOUJI, MEISTER (★) → CALMING WAVELENGTH
A kid over the network who Phoenix decided to talk to because he was a little bored, but he sure doesn't regret it - Souji seems nice and quaint and very good to talk with, a kid with a good head on his shoulders. Perhaps in some ways he's reminded of Minako through him, though Phoenix guesses that's just his intuition speaking there. But for the most part he doesn't seem that bad at all, and Phoenix wouldn't mind having more chances to talk with him if he can help it - after all, its not as if he really has a lot to do, and getting to know more people is always nice and good.
APOLLO, MEISTER (★) → SCORCHING SOUL
Put it quite simply, one of the Greek gods - or more specifically, the god of the sun itself. The notion that he is actually speaking to a god amuses Phoenix more than anything, since he already knows the effect BREW does to people not native from this world. Still, its a bit of an intriguing experience to actually be talking to a god. Doubly so because this is Apollo he is talking to; although its clear from the get go that he is nothing like the Apollo from his world. Still, Phoenix will take the chance to troll should it ever arise - until then though, he finds Apollo a treat to talk to, and something of a study to see how the god is adapting to his sudden morality and the strange new world he's been dragged into. Also just to add: Apollo's personality doesn't bother Phoenix in the slightest; after all, he's seen and experience worse.

Noted for her apparent spilt-personality disorder which would have confused and intrigued Phoenix at another time, but by the time Lain did come about he was already half-delirious by then from everything that had happened to him and was well on his way to completely losing his sanity. Lain was one of the people who helped him make sure that he managed to still cling onto that last shred of his sanity, to keep his head straight and not utterly lose it even though he was in great danger of losing it. For that Lain has Phoenix's gratitude, and he really does hope that she pulls through from all of this - because really, all of them are already scarred and marred as it is from all that the Witches have done to them.
JONATHAN CRANE / SCARECROW, WEAPON → DEMON POISON NEEDLE GLOVE (DEAD)
Scarecrow was... well, Phoenix was used as one of his 'subjects' for his experiments in fear gas, which pretty much explains everything about how much the man detests him. Because of him, Phoenix found himself so much closer to breaking than ever before - it was only because of his own stubbornness that got him to keep himself together. Still, those experiments have done a good number on Phoenix (though he refuses to show just how badly its traumatized him) and more than ever he knows he that much closer to breaking down. Needless to say really, Phoenix is more than glad to know that he's gone, and then he'll never have to face him again.

MINAKO ARISATO, (TEMPORARY) MEISTER (★) → SOUL BFF
A bright girl, one who Phoenix finds himself at ease more often than not when he's talking to her. Minako's been nothing but pleasant, though at times her way of noticing and simply picking up on things he attempts to hide does surprise Phoenix at times. In some ways perhaps she's just like him, a person who's unknown to others even though she knows them - but their circumstances are quite different, but still Phoenix isn't sure if he could say if she's better off than he is, considering everything. That aside though, her upbeat attitude and cheerful demeanour is always quite a thing to look at, and Phoenix finds himself just a bit drawn towards her, having even opened up as few things to her already - things he wouldn't really have told Edgeworth or anybody else from his world.
In the aftermath of his first mission with Edgeworth, Phoenix now has made an arrangement with Minako to serve as her temporary (unofficial) partner as a bid for him to get stronger in his own way without having to endanger the prosecutor on the sidelines. Its a strange sort of arrangement to make for sure, but he's glad that Minako accepted it, and even moreso that she isn't asking many questions - he does appreciate the privacy that she grants him. But still its a fact that they're baring their souls to one another via resonance, so who knows how long that privacy can last...
NATE 'NEAR' RIVER, WEAPON → DEMON RUBIK'S CUBE
One of the co-owners of the agency in which Edgeworth is part of. Phoenix has only heard a bit about him from Edgeworth, and he hardly seems to be in the network at all - so Phoenix is taking it upon him to investigate as much as he can about him. Naturally, Phoenix isn't one to easily trust anybody who is coming to work with Edgeworth, especially not one who he cannot properly understand. His going to work at the Agency is for that purpose (along with keeping an eye on Edgeworth) - in order to uncover the nature of Near, and to see if he can trust the other in making sure that Edgeworth is fine if the time comes for it. Call him jaded, but Phoenix isn't about to take any chances when his Meister's safety and security is at stake. That whole surveillance system thing really bugs him as well...
LIGHT YAGAMI/ASAHI, PARTNERED WEAPON → DEMON DEATH NOTE
The other co-owner of the agency in where Edgeworth is part of, and perhaps the one who speaks even less, in a sense. Phoenix's interested in knowing him better as well, at least to see if Light is somebody he can trust in to protect Edgeworth when the time comes. Again, he's entered to work at the Agency for that purpose, alongside looking over Edgewortha as much as he can. He seems like a pretty okay chap at least, and Phoenix supposes he doesn't have to worry too much; but still, he's not the naive lawyer he used to be - the years have turned him cynical and jaded, so its going to take a while (a good long while) before he's going to trust either him or Near.
EIRÍKUR RAGNARSSON / THE REPUBLIC OF ICELAND, PARTNERED MEISTER (★) → ICY SOUL
TROLLBRO. As much as it was quite curious to be talking to the Republic of Iceland of all the nations he could be talking with, now Phoenix does find the other quite good company. He likes the other's dry with and sarcasm, and the fact that he rolls along with his own trollings is an absolute plus. He considers Iceland a good friend indeed, and does care for him quite a fair bit; its safe to say that Phoenix does consider Iceland a fine companion, and one he appreciates a fair bit. He's already gotten himself to understand more about the country (in both a literal and figurative sense) so that he can click better with the other, and it seems to be working fine so far. Hopefully they can get on even better terms in the future - Phoenix would like that very much, if only because it means he can have somebody to count on as a friend.
KURORO LUCIFER, PARTNERED MEISTER (★) → SOUL STEAL
Troll buddy, of a sort. Phoenix only had a few chances to talk with him, but he does like and appreciate the other's trolling abilities and sense of humour quite a bit - not to mention he's quite cheerful to talk to. The relationship he has with Kurapika is quite strange though... Phoenix has only just glanced the surface, but the ever-curious part of him is quite interested to delve deeper even though he knows that he really shouldn't. He'll rein himself in, but should the chance present itself you can be sure that Phoenix will try and look into it regardless.
KURAPIKA, PARTNERED WEAPON → DEMON TANTO
Again, Phoenix's only had a few times to talk to this individual, but he's already amused at the reaction that this one has. So much spazzing and flailing - it almost reminds the former lawyer of himself. Almost, because Phoenix has no real intention of thinking back about his past. The way Kurapika seems to regard Kuroro also is something Phoenix is interested in, but he isn't going to push it; still, if the chance comes before him to know more you can bet that Phoenix will be latching onto it somehow in one way or another.
ROY MUSTANG, PARTNERED MEISTER (★) → SCORCHING SOUL
One of the biggest names floating around the city, and Phoenix knows that for sure. Head of the guest-organized security force (backed by Shibusen) known as DOGS, Phoenix knows that this guy isn't one to be trifled with; something about this guy just screams military and command the same way Edgeworth himself screams pink and frills. Still, as much as Phoenix applauds the other for his work he can't help but wonder just what exactly is it that pushes this guy to do all of this. This isn't even his world or his people, so just exactly why is he making the effort to go onto such lengths? There's something under that mask that he wears, and Phoenix knows it - it takes one broken man to know another after all, as sad as that reality is.
KATSURA KOTARO, MEISTER (★) → SOUL LEADER
...an interesting sort of man, to be sure. In a way, he sort of reminds Phoenix about the liver characters he meets back in his world (especially those during his lawyer days). Though he does seem to have some form of commen sense at least... or as much as Phoenix can see anyway. He takes a fair bit of fun in rolling along with his shenanigans, and for the most part he is a rather fine chap to talk with then the time comes as well. Just a little, he's interested in knowing him better... and the logic behind that mind of his.
SETA SOUJI, MEISTER (★) → CALMING WAVELENGTH
A kid over the network who Phoenix decided to talk to because he was a little bored, but he sure doesn't regret it - Souji seems nice and quaint and very good to talk with, a kid with a good head on his shoulders. Perhaps in some ways he's reminded of Minako through him, though Phoenix guesses that's just his intuition speaking there. But for the most part he doesn't seem that bad at all, and Phoenix wouldn't mind having more chances to talk with him if he can help it - after all, its not as if he really has a lot to do, and getting to know more people is always nice and good.
APOLLO, MEISTER (★) → SCORCHING SOUL
Put it quite simply, one of the Greek gods - or more specifically, the god of the sun itself. The notion that he is actually speaking to a god amuses Phoenix more than anything, since he already knows the effect BREW does to people not native from this world. Still, its a bit of an intriguing experience to actually be talking to a god. Doubly so because this is Apollo he is talking to; although its clear from the get go that he is nothing like the Apollo from his world. Still, Phoenix will take the chance to troll should it ever arise - until then though, he finds Apollo a treat to talk to, and something of a study to see how the god is adapting to his sudden morality and the strange new world he's been dragged into. Also just to add: Apollo's personality doesn't bother Phoenix in the slightest; after all, he's seen and experience worse.
