Voter turnout

Which state will have the highest voter turnout today? In 2004, a year with higher than average turnout, the state with the highest voter percentage was Minnesota at 76.7%. My new home State of Oregon was fifth with 70.6%.

This was the top 10:
  1. Minnesota - 76.7%
  2. Wisconsin - 73%
  3. Maine - 72%
  4. North Dakota - 70.8%
  5. Oregon - 70.6%
  6. Montana - 69.9%
  7. New Hampshire - 68.9%
  8. Iowa - 68.8%
  9. South Dakota - 67.1%
  10. Missouri - 66.3%
And rounding out the bottom, and the only two states with less than 50% turnout? California at 49.1% and Hawaii at 46.2%. I'm really surprised by that.

Want to know what your State's position was?

And the national average? 61.3%, which is higher than I thought. This year is supposed to exceed that. I wonder what it will be? Any guesses?

Need a reason to vote? How about helping your State to get the best turnout ;).
