Ok, my new favorite thing ever during these months of garden produce (but James, you may want to avert your eyes):
I figured out, during Papa Murphy's customer appreciation week (when they had family size pepperoni pizzas for $6.99 or something just as tantalizingly cheap) that, duh, the pizza's not cooked yet when you get it, which means it's wide open for adding stuff to it that you conveniently didn't have to pay for at the place where they made it.
And since our garden now runneth over with tomatoes, basil, bell peppers and, sort of, zucchini (not actually from our garden, since we don't actually bother to grow it ourselves, knowing that everyone else will be just dying to get rid of it), all I had to do was buy some mushrooms at the grocery store, and the pepperoni-only pizza itself ($8.99 now, with my coupon) and ta-da! Garden pizza WITH meat, which no one ever seems to think people might want. Plus I'm putting the stuff pouring out of the garden to good use.
And I gets me my veggies, yummy style.
