gah, placement
Damn. I didn't get the US placement.
They were quite happy with me, but couldn't arrange it with their management, due to time problems with visa and supervision. I have now been told that normally students would apply three months earlier - I don't feel bad about this as I didn't know the possibility existed then.
Pretty disappointed, I was looking forward to it: both an interesting project and a bit of an adventure. Plus side, it does mean I have a lot less to organise, and I can turn up to more weddings etc that people kept planning when they thought I was leaving the country. Also, I hadn't realised until now that I was anticipating it because it would mean I was doing something cool and fun. I can do that now, I don't need to wait!
And finally it means I can (hopefully, this is something I do now need to organise!) extend my undergrad work as I wanted to.
