Haven't written in ages - much work and well... Just not been feeling very connected I suppose.
I got add-on macro lenses via the magic of eBay, and went out spider hunting today. Sunshine + bricks = salticus scenicus!
Cropped, not resized! Excuse composition, he was scuttling fervently.
Note the huge jaws of the male! This was the only good shot of 20 or so... I'm not used to the extra macro yet, and it's tough getting things in the restricted focal plane, compounded by chasing a tiny spider along a wall :)
I'm pretty sure this shot is in focus, and the blur is camera shake. I'd stopped it as much as I could (while keeping some depth of field!), but I should have upped the iso I guess? Next camera is going to need image stabilisation...
Also, if anyone has tips on dealing with raw images, ideally Fuji ones, that would be nice. Something is not right with this shot compared to the jpegs... Doesn't look as vivid. At least I can take raw usefully now, with new speedy card.
