Darci decides she likes the rain
ever since it started sprinkling and then turned to a downpour Darci has been complaining about the rain non stop. She HATES the rain. But this morning she changed her tune. We went out and got rain jackets (Riley's never had one here at my house and Darci's is way to small) and then we headed out side while it was very wet but during one of the moments it wasn't raining.

we were waiting for Grammi and Grandpa to arrive so we started taking a walk (staying on our little dead end street) and the kids were very excited to find worms in the puddles. And still wiggling worms too (there we also smooshed and not moving worms). Darci decided we needed to collect as many as possible for Lightbulb (her turtle) as she LOVES worms, its so funny to watch her eat big worms too. So we got a container and started a worm hunt in ernest.
Darci had great time using a stick to fish them out of the water. After a bit Grammi and Grandpa showed up, Grandpa was dissapointed the worms weren't for him to take to feed to the ducks, but decided that back at their house they'd do a worm hunt of their own for the ducks. This made the kids very happy, although neither Riley nor Darci wanted to stop hunting worms, and they were every where, it was better than an easter egg hunt (and not as much work for me!)
the worms..... ooohhhh! on our way back to the house Darci spied one more worm (followed by like 4 more) but eventually we got inside the house.
I used another bigger tub (old frosting container) and put some dirt so the worms can survive for a bit, we got a lot of worms enough to feed lightbulb for a month :) and of course had to decorate the new worms home, I hope it is a very plush last home for them :)
I was curious if I'd be able to take showers this summer so I researched and found out that as of about 4pm at SFO airport (the closest location to me that I could find data on) we are at 62% of norm for rain. So not great but a lot better than it had been, maybe there is hope for my showers this summer. at SFO 2.21 inches had fallen in the last 24 hours and 1-3" of rain is foretasted to fall in the next 48hrs. I like this rain, and I'm glad Darci agrees with me, I'll just keep having to supply worm hunts.
