Grey's fanfiction reclist

I didn't put ratings on here and I... could edit them on, but I won't. Suffice it to say that I don't read hardcore porn very often, and have so far not found anything hardcore porn in Grey's Anatomy fandom that I would put on this list. (Besides, people tend to bemoan the lack of porn here on LJ more than they bitch about it.)

I definitely consider this under construction and by no means set. This is only from recent months. If anyone has anything to rec me, I'd love to see it. I read an exorbitant amount of fanfic a day as it is.

Cristina POV. A look at Cristina/Burke circa 3x10, "Don't Stand So Close to Me." My personal like about this fic is the pace, which really captures the essence of briskness that's inherent in Cristina -- that is not to say that Cristina/Burke and Burke are not characterized fantastically as well, they are. Great fic.

white picket fence by honey_wheeler
Izzie/Denny AU. Not what you'd expect! It's cute as those two always are, awkward as a pair of people who have never had a relationship outside of a hospital would end up being, and painfully realistic in its detail. The images are both vivid and evocative and I consider this a must-read if you're caught up past Season 2.

Izzie/Denny AU. Sequel to the previous fic, as you might guess. Amazingly, the idea is not exhausted. Izzie is neurotic, Denny is playful, if you like "white picket fence" you'll definitely like this.

Stealing Kisses by idio_cynic
Addison POV. Pre-show Derek/Addison, short and bittersweet. Packs a surprising punch. Derek, it seems, is always late.

Cheaters Never Win by keepfallingfast
Addison-centric, Addison POV. This fic has a magnificent hold on the canon, starts out like a character study and then out of nowhere hits you with a wallop. It pretty much left me breathless.

Lost Causes by keepfallingfast
All characters. Three years later, each character reflects. The sense of ennui and discontent is certainly not something that we hope for these characters, but it's quite possible; I think what I like most is how all of the characters except Mark, as usual, refuse to recognize that their lives are not exactly as they want them. In other words -- perfectly in character.

you think it's the curtain call (but it's really just intermission) by mardia
Mark POV. Derek/Addison, Derek/Meredith, Mark/Addison. I really adore mardia's Mark in this piece, but something I must really point out is how Derek's characterization is the the jewel of this piece -- Derek is the center here. This piece manages to capture the essence of every character in it, even the ones on the margins, and the weight of one person's decisions on four lives. Fabulous.

in the hearts of men by mardia
Derek POV. Derek/Addison, Derek/Meredith, Mark/Addison. Companion piece to the above piece, and a definite read if you read that one. Derek's side of this fits like a puzzle piece to Mark's reading of him and shows how much they know each other. A highlight would be the perfect characterization of the relationship between the Chief and Derek and Addison.

The Leftovers by neur0vanity
Izzie/Baking. No, really, this is just a very nice Izzie-centric piece -- angsty but funny in a very Izzie sort of way. I can just see every bit of this, every shot that this would have if this was on the show, and every word flashing through Izzie's mind. I love this piece.

Anatomy of a Relationship by slybrunette
Alex/Izzie. The best use of the 1sentence prompts I've seen, slybrunette builds an entire story arc believably with just the right amount of drama, comedy, and cute -- out of single sentences. Beautiful. Definitely worth a read.

Vanishing Act by slybrunette
Meredith POV. Post 3x15, "Walk On Water." This is just completely what I wanted to see out of this fandom after that episode, and my wish was granted. Not only does it capture the beauty of the water symbolism recently introduced, but it explores the characterization of Meredith that the show itself only just hints at -- her seeming wish to just stop dealing with things by vanishing entirely.

He Was Her McDreamy... by thegreatgoolash
Callie POV, George/Callie, set during 3x14, "Wishin' and Hopin'." Short and sort of an offhand piece but I think it's good enough to highlight. Callie reflects on her and George and it's just... so on target. Top notch.
