Wow. There is really no point to this at all. Well, I'm paying Liz back in full for her
favor, so. Fluff is now delivered.
I assumed that Francis is either back with Eleanor or stayed with her, because I'm lazy. Pointless fluff, w00.
Amelia was taking her lunch break - which, more recently, meant going home for a half hour and sleeping on the couch (Ben wouldn’t be any the wiser) - when someone Apparated in. Aware that her wards would block out non-family, she still had her wand at the ready. She lowered it at seeing who it was. "Ah."
"Yeah," Francis said quickly, "sorry, sorry, but, news."
"Can’t it wait?" She just noticed she’d fallen asleep in her shoes. And glasses. She looked up at him again.
"It’s a girl," he said breathlessly.
"...What’s a girl?"
There was a moment of remarkable confusion, before Francis realized, and laughed. "Oh. Right. El’s pregnant."
"...What?" Amelia sat up.
"I could have sworn I told you. And she didn’t either, well, that’s weird."
"I’m a little busy, Francis, I haven’t attended a family gathering in a fucking month, how far along is she?"
"Couple months. You can hardly tell, really, she’s maintaining her figure spectacularly." He grinned.
"And it’s a girl," she said.
"Right. Mum wants us to name it - her - " Amelia barely stifled a laugh at how excited Francis was. "What?"
"I don’t know, you’re the one telling me."
"You were laughing. This is a big fucking deal."
"I know. Do you want a daughter?"
Francis paused. "...So what if I do?"
Amelia regarded him skeptically. "And you’re willing to marry Eleanor."
"Fuck, well, if I have to, yeah," he reasoned. "And I sort of have to, don't I?"
"You'd commit to her like that?"
"Well, she's fucking hot, brilliant, amazing in bed, I don't see why I shouldn't. Anyway, I can just divorce her if it gets bad."
Amelia rolled her eyes and took off her glasses. "You're unbelievable."
He grinned. "So they tell me."
She slumped back into the couch, knowing she couldn't very well get any more sleep now. "Well, I'll be sure to give her my regards when I go back to work."
"Give her mine, too." Francis positively beamed, and Disapparated.
Pregnant. Well. It was bound to happen sooner or later. She just never thought he'd take to it so much.
She could only hope that They - whoever They were - were right about people growing up to be the opposite of their parents.
