The entire scene from the point where Sherlock appears outside the surgery to their parting - you have their voices spot-on. John throwing Sherlock's phone into traffic is perfect - Sherlock *would* be fool enough to keep texting without paying attention to John even at that point, and it *would* be too much.

Even if Sherlock had told John that he'd broken matters off with Lauren at that point - which I gather he had, from "You Are an Emergency" - I don't think John would have believed him. Why would he? As John observes here, Sherlock is too good at faking emotions - and, in the ambulance scene before Sherlock had what I suppose was his final meeting with Lauren, Sherlock had already said enough to *show* John that he'd been lying to and cheating on John up through that afternoon.

He never gets around to changing his mobile number, just in case.Perfectly believable. You don't just turn all that (makes unseen hand gesture in the air) off just like a snap of the fingers, because the breakup is official ( ... )
