Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day to all who are of the paternal bent! Fathers, Grandfathers, GodFathers, Foster Fathers, Guardians, Father Figures, and anyone who has filled a fatherly role in their lives for another being. There is a lot of love, responsibility, and heartache wrapped up in the Father gig, and those who attempt it, work hard at it, and put their hearts & souls into it all deserve our respect, love, and admiration.
I've been blessed in my life to have Three fathers - a Biological one, of course:
His name was Larry, and he died a year ago August.
Next, I had two stepfathers - the first was Carl. I have pictures of him, but haven't managed to scan many of them - and I can't find the ones I HAVE scanned. He died when I was 10yrs old, and I remember him with love - he was a SUPER Daddy, and did an excellent job, as far as I was concerned. I remember that he looked a lot like John Kerr, the actor who played Lt. Joe Cable in the first movie of "South Pacific":
Then there's my 2nd stepfather - Pop:
He married my Mother in 1992. They had fun together - now he's got Alzheimer's...and I miss the Pop he used to be.
Next, of course, we have Edwin - my best friend, my husband, and the father of our daughter. :) Also known as....
