We'll knock back the glasses of autumn,

and the guitar of the silence will go on bringing love-lines, the language of non-existant rivers, well-beloved stanzas with no sense at all.

I survived Week 2. 28 weeks to go.

Arts Walk was more pretentious then I remember but Tyler and I still had a great time. There were a few fucking incredible artists tucked away behind an array of weak ones, but those few made the night inspiring. Afterward, we squeezed eight people into a booth at the Eastside and played the Dicks Danger raffle. We never did find out what the prizes were. Some of Tyler's work friends were there, which made for an interesting evening when one of them (who has children older then me) followed us to the Brotherhood and then back to our house. There he whipped out his 'knife hit kit' and insisted on getting a few of the guys high out of their skulls. I didn't know people my parents' age carry around 'knife hit kits'. Fucking lame.

Sara, Kate B and I sat through an orientation at the Neighborhood Free Medical Clinic which operates on Tuesday nights. The entire place is run by volunteer practitioners, nurses, MAs and donations. And since everyone deserves the ability to take care of their bodies and this country's health care system is absolutely fucked, I think it's a given that I should put in some time with the Free Clinc. It had a very optimistic, upbeat feel to it and the practitioners who spoke to us seem like good people.

Tyler and I went to a wedding last night... I absolutely love weddings, even weddings with crappy DJs and an obviously uneasy/unsure couple. We got drunk and requested Liz Phair songs the whole time (the best we could do with Crappy DJ's crappy catalog), but still danced along with the stereotypical wedding play list.

I need to do homework, but I'd really rather go buy myself a new jacket and shoes. I don't feel like I could absorb a sentence of chemistry until I have a new, warm jacket in my possession. I don't really have money either, so I'll probably go crawl back in bed with Tyler, which is better then a jacket and shoes anyway.
