If you're looking for an inspiring book, I recommend "Democracy's Edge" by Frances Moore Lappe. It was slow at first, but I couldn't put it down after the first chapter. The book looks far beyond the tired divide of red and blue and shows how most Americans share a common passion for change. Lappe discusses real, undeniable signs of active democracy emerging from people who understand that freedom is possible only in strong communities. So nice after four years of negativaty without any sturdy plans for change, Evergreen-style.
