Interview/Other side of the fence

Apr 12, 2011 11:40

Yesterday I interviewed for a permanent position at my job (versus temp work). I think the interview went mostly smoothly, and I had good answers for the trap-door questions such as "Why are you applying for this position?"  I did my best to dress professionally as well.

The weird conversation of the day comes from my supervisor (for lack of a better term; the person the next rank above). She's a super-trendy Vietnamese (I think?) woman who's smaller than me, and I'm fairly petite (5'1" and 110ish lbs).

Her: "I like your pants! What size do you wear?"
Me: "Oh, size 4. But these are from Express so it's size 2, since they deflate their sizes..."
Her: "Size 2?? But you're so small!"
Me: "..........."
Me: "What size do you wear?"
Her: "0... "
So yeah. It's interesting to hear things from the point of view of a person who is smaller than me rather than bigger than me.

I think that if the way I talk were to be transcribed with punctuation, it would look like this:
"I think if the way I talk were to be transcribed with punctuation? It would have a lot of question marks and  ellipses...."
