I love him laying his ear against the piano and naming himself after the teacher and stuff like He was even fascinated by the process of recording, and he learned how music settled into the plastic grooves of a record, or into flimsy, seaweed-like magnetic tape. All those sounds, trapped in there, playing over and over again - like ghosts.
And not wanting Dan to get mixed up in it (and also EEE Neutral Milk Hotel! :D), and just a great big AW JONES <3 <3 <3 <3

NMH was a very awesome suggestion from liljfrostbite, and I'm really glad she mentioned it, because I feel like it goes really, really well with "My Death". I don't know a lot about music but I think that would be a pretty awesome mix. XD
AW JONES! <3 Thank you!

I really loved this part, as I think describes Jones perfectly in any setting:
His quest to figure out where sounds came from led him into trouble more often than not. He took things apart, things he wasn't supposed to take apart because they were precious. And when they were in pieces, he still didn't have any answers. They'd lost their magic. The sounds had died.

I'm glad you liked Jones' musical past and that it came out all right. I was a little worried about not having the knowledge or terminology for everything correct (I'm about as unmusical as you can get unfortunately). XD
Thank you!

I really enjoyed this! I love the idea of Jones the child prodigy, and how he chose his name, and how he's kind of lost in his own universe of noise and doesn't care about competing with anyone.
He needed to know everything. He was even fascinated by the process of recording, and he learned how music settled into the plastic grooves of a record, or into flimsy, seaweed-like magnetic tape. All those sounds, trapped in there, playing over and over again - like ghosts.
That bit is perfection, it's a beautiful image and rings very true to your Jones.
Lovely! <3

Also, who could resist a series that has this as an opening sequence?
(This is not a joke. That's really the opening for the latter half of the series ...)
I'm glad you liked it! I love genius!Jones, way too much fun to imagine. :D
