You've done a really great job fitting the two worlds into each other. Jones' discovery of coffee was super cute. I really liked L's view of Jones, that he was high on the list because he didn't want L's job. I just want to snuggle young music maker Jones though.

I really loved this part, as I think describes Jones perfectly in any setting:

His quest to figure out where sounds came from led him into trouble more often than not. He took things apart, things he wasn't supposed to take apart because they were precious. And when they were in pieces, he still didn't have any answers. They'd lost their magic. The sounds had died.

It's allll L's fault that Jones is so, er, stimulated all the time. XD (Even though I suppose Jones drinking coffee all the time is fanon, how the hell else does he stay up for four or five days? It's either that or speed!)

I'm glad you liked Jones' musical past and that it came out all right. I was a little worried about not having the knowledge or terminology for everything correct (I'm about as unmusical as you can get unfortunately). XD

In one of the episodes Claire laments that he's just had 8 cups of coffee and a gram or something, some sort of drug reference. That's before Jones pops in and offers to help out 'cuz he'll be up for 3 or 4 days.

lol, it's okay. XD I think it's just that I've read so many Nathan Barley fics which explicitly say Jones is straightedge, I've sort of accepted it into my personal canon and don't want to believe otherwise, ha!

I just checked. Episode 2, before Dan starts betting on tramps Claire says "He's just made himself nine coffees."

Realistically he's probably done some, but caffeine seems to be his main thing.
