Year In Review
Okay, well, we still have two weeks or so left in the year but I thought I'd hammer out some big events from my year....
Quitting My Shitty Job
I had actually planned on leaving my previous job in October of '06. Life was going well for me though, as I'd moved in with Michelle and everything was bright 'n' sunny.
BIG Mistake.
Almost immediately after agreeing to stay at the company, my bosses reminded me why I chose to leave so I dealt with months of intense depression before finally walking into the office one morning and announcing I was quitting. They played on my sense of decency and convinced me to stay another couple weeks...but it was nice to finally be free.
Colts win the Super Bowl
Not so much a PERSONAL achievement for me but a pretty big deal anyway. I didn't enjoy it as much as I should have...but I was far too distracted by what I'd been through in the previous months at work...plus I was unemployed. Still a great moment watching my favorite team overcoming the "soft" and choker" labels
Getting Engaged
I actually popped the question to Mrs. thez0rk the day before the Super Bowl. As previously noted, I was unemployed at the time. She actually said later that she can't believe she agreed to marry a guy without a job. Wow.
Landing the job at AgencyNet
I was out of work for about three weeks and was getting pretty frustrated from dealing with recruiters. None of the jobs that were coming my way seemed worth the commitment and money was becoming a big issue. I ended up interviewing at a marketing agency in a touristy part of Ft. Lauderdale. Oddly enough, they hired me on the spot. Too bad the recruiter was playing hardball about fees with the company. We eventually worked something out and I'm still here 10 months later.
Began recording the first Ashen Victor album
After 3 years of talking about it and fucking off, LucasMan and I finally began laying down tracks for the first Ashen Victor album. Not sure when it will be done but it's pretty damn exciting to see my creations finally coming to fruition. If nothing else, we just had a great time hanging out for a week and playing Rock Band in our down time
