This fears got a hold on me
I realize that I should probably save this post till I talk about my monthly favorites next week, but I really don't think that I can wait till then. Besides, new music deserves its own post anyway.
Based on the very enthusiastic recomendation from engel_sehnsucht I picked up the first White Lies album 'To Lose My Life'. It came earlier then Amazon told me it would, but the good news is, is that I fucking love it! I love the lead singers voice, and I love the 80's sound that I hear when I listen to the songs. It sounds like something that I could hear in any classic 80's movie. First few songs in, I was already loving it. My only complaint, it that it ended too quickly. Lol! I wanted more of it. Anyway, when I can, I certainly want to pick up their second album. But 'To Lose My Life' comes highly highly recomemded by me!
A few days before ordering that album I happened to be wandering around Best Buy because I was really feeling desperate for new music. So, I picked up the Vampire Weekend album ' Modern Vampires of The City'. Walked around the store listening to a few songs on my iPhone and decided that I liked it enough to give it a try. Now, I don't regret it, but it's a weird freaking album. It's quirky enough that I enjoy it, but that's just it, it's really quirky. But I don't find myself wanting to repeat any songs really. I just kind of listen to the album and use it as good driving background music. Do you have it? Have you heard it? Any thoughts?
