A Long, PAINFUL Day!

Mar 05, 2011 09:36

This morning, I woke up just after 7 am. I climbed out of bed, and have already had my first cup of coffee, as I watched an episode of Dexter. I am now writing this out, with my second cup of coffee, by my side. I am wide awake, and (without the pains of tendonitis, or my twisted ankle) I am COMPLETELY ready to start my day ( Read more... )

That physical therapy session sounds painful. Are you feeling a bit better / ankle a bit looser for it now? I hope you get something out of it.

Can't you all tell an unpleasant person to leave?

I've sometimes lain awake at night thinking about how to fix something in my knitting and actually gone downstairs and done it so I can relax. I'm getting more relaxed about that though.

[Edit] Oh and Lush is a great place to buy beautiful bath bombs and soaps from if you enjoy luxuriating in the bath. :-)

I wish I knew enough to fix my knitting. For now, I just take it over to a friend and she'll fix it or rip it back carefully so I can start the rows over. It's good to have a friend like that, though.

There are some great vids on YouTube I've learned from. This is a good one for going back several rows.

[Edit] This is a much better vid, sorry.

I used to rip back and laboriously pick up the loose stitches (and still have to if I'm using a complicated stitch).

I had great difficulty finding the vid I originally saw because YouTube is crashing my computer at present. [worries] Vids where you see what the knitter sees are so much better.

Well, thank you again, for sending me this link.

The second link is the right one! I never saved it because the technique's easy, but it took some searching (and crashing) to find it. You don't really need a circular needle; just a smaller one than the one you're using.

Oh this is brilliant! Thank you so much for sharing this. I have a project on needles right now that I need to rip back. I think it's in seed stitch so it will be just a bit trickier but I think I can do this.

I haven't tried it with seed, but it works on stocking and garter, and often in a pattern I'll have at least one of those to pick up. Even if yuo pick up the stitches wrongly in the seed, you can correct their orientation on the needle when you get to them. Good luck! :-)

I would imagine. None of my friends even know what yarn is. Hehe.

It was a very painful session. Apart from cursing, I was in tears. One should NEVER have to deal with that much pain. I am, happily, feeling MUCH better today.
I hope I get something out of it, too.
