Part 1 Countdown: 8 Days Left!

Feb 01, 2011 11:01

Superbowl, is right around the corner. If your house, is like mine, then I am sure that you will have quite the gathering. Screaming at the TV (as if the players, on the screen, can somehow hear), will no doubt occur. And you, being the lucky host, get to come up with the perfect menu.
Sure, you could go simple. Greasy chips (along with dip), and drumsticks. But, you are good host. No, strike that. Not a 'good' host...A GREAT HOST!!! And dammit, you will not settle for simple. Drumsticks and chips are for amateurs.
And you...Well, you are no amateur.
But, there is no need to panic. I am here, to let you know, of the perfect meal, for your Superbowl fans.
Yarnie, boiled.
And, it is so easy, to prepare a boiled yarnie. Here is how you do it.
First thing in the morning, start bitching, at the yarnie. Allow the yarnie, no coffee. And, do not back down. Scream at the yarnie, over everything that you can think of. This will piss the yarnie off. (This is a crucial step, in preparing boiled yarnie. DO NOT SKIP IT!)
From this point on, the yarnie will prepare itself.
In a state of anger, the yarnie will throw him/herself, into a tub, of BOILING hot water. By the time the yarnie gets over the rage, they will be fully cooked, and ready to serve.
Viola...Boiled Yarnie. You will have your guests wanting to know this recipe!

This morning, my sweetie-pie, was anything but sweet. (It probably did not help, that I woke on the 'wrong side' of the bed.) Yelling was on the agenda, this morning. Every little thing, that my sweetie could think of...from the TV not working, to clothes needing to be washed. It was all included, in the shout-fest, of this morning.
After the shouting had ended, I was in a state of rage. I was BEYOND pissed. I went to the bathroom (with my cup of coffee). I got in the bath, pouring in a generous amount amount of bubbles. Then, I turned the water on. All hot, and very little cold. (30 seconds into filling the tub, the mirrors in the bathroom were starting to steam over.) I could feel the heat, but I did not care.
I was enraged.
Eventually, while taking my bath, I 'cooled off.' The rage went away, and I realized how incredibly FRIGGIN HOT the water was. I immediately ended the bath. But, it was too late. I am now RED! Lobster red. (I think I cooked off a layer of skin.)
I went into the bedroom, where my sweetie was still asleep. I grabbed a pillow, and went wild.
"What the heck, Michael!" One look at me, and laughter ensued. (Great, I am in physical pain, and am also being laughed at. What a way, to start the day.)
"Do not EVER yell at me, before I take my bath! E-V-E-R!!!"
I got dressed, and left the room. (I could still here my baby lauging, after I closed the door.)
Anyway...
Yesterday! Oh, what a day!
I finished my first beanie just after 2 pm. It is such a cute, little beanie. I absolutely love it! It is made out of white yarn, with colored specks (pale pink, light green, baby blue, and lemon yellow.) (To me, this yarn looks like vanilla cake frosting, with rainbow sprinkles.)
I did the last round, with Pomp-A-Doodle (still a funny name. Hehe!), in shades of blue. Then, I added a white bow, at the side. This beanie is going to make some little girl, VERY happy. I am sure of it.
After finishing this beanie, I decided I would go, get the mail. (I ordered a season of Dexter, on Netflix, and was sure it would be in yesterday's mail.) So, I got my forearm canes, and headed to the mailbox (roughly 1/4 mile, from the house...a good little walk.)
I never got to the mailbox.
Our dogs decided to play ESCAPE! They got out of the yard, and were running all around. I was trying to get control of them...and boom. I went down. The first fall, of the day.
My neighbor came, and gathered the dogs. I followed, and went (without the mail), back to my house.
Fast forward, to 7pm. Time to work my second beanie. This beanie is super cool, as well. Rounds 1-9, are worked in a fun camoflauge. Round 10, a green, that blends in PERFECTLY, with the camoflauge.
8:30 pm. Dinner.
I grabbed my canes, and headed to the kitchen. I was standing, inches away from the table, and fall number 2, occured. My left ankle went completely weak, and I went down. My sweetie, and mom, looked at me, and both asked if I was ok.
"I'm fine." I climbed into the chair, and ate.
Two falls, in one day. Now, you think that would be enough, right? Surely, I had reached my fall quota.
After finishing dinner, I got up, from the table, and started walking out of the kitchen. I was halfway, through the kitchen, and fall number 3 occured. This one was the worst.
This fall happened, because not just one, but both ankles went weak. And, the canes turned against me, for this fall.
Forearm canes, have these cuffs, that you place your arms, into. They help keep the canes on you. Well, let me tell you, these cuffs, can hurt like hell.
The right cane, fell away from my body, but the left...well, the left cane, was evil. The cuff rode up my arm, until it got to the bend. Then, it ripped, off of me, taking off a layer of skin. Now, I have this HUGE, ugly bruise, at the bend, of my left arm, that hurts to high hell.
I tell you...Forearm canes can be DEADLY!!!
After fall number 3, I decided that it would be in my best interest to call it a day. So, I decided to go to my bed. But, I did not walk, to my room. No, no....Heaven's only knows, how many more falls, that would have led to. I decided it was safer (albeit, more foolish looking), to crawl, to my bedroom, and climb up, on my bed.
As for today, I will work another two beanies. I think I will use the walker today, instead of the forearm canes. Sure, I can still fall. But, at least the walker won't turn on me, nearly as bad as the canes.
So...
Before I end this, I would like to remind you guys.
On February 8, I will be typing out the quiz, for this blog. As you all know, the person who answers the most questions correctly, first, will win a beanie. All the answers, for the 10 questions, can be found in my blog. So, study, study, study.
Well, I am off. Time to go start my first beanie, for the day.
Happy crocheting!
