Days Before The Cruise...The Rush Is On!

Sep 25, 2010 16:13

So, I woke up today, bright and early, with the morning sunlight beaming through my windows.Saturday! The final weekend, before my Mother's Birthday Cruise, has officially started.
I came out of my room, and greeted my Mother. She had already been awake, long enough, to have devoured two good sized cups of coffee.
"Good morning, " I said, as I sat down on the couch, with my own gigantic cup of coffee. "Starting to get excited, about it, yet?"
"No!" Of course, her smile COMPLETELY betrayed her. Her smile showed that she was beyond excited...WAY BEYOND. "Michael...How many times do I have to tell you? I..."
"...Don't get excited, over things, anymore." Yeah! Whatever.
So, I was hopeful, as I had my coffee, this morning, that I would have today to work with my yarn. After all, yesterday, I packed my bags. I double checked everything. I called up the cruise line, to confirm all the little "goodies" I ordered would, in fact, be in her statroom. Pink roses...check! Champagne, and flutes...check! "Bon Voyage" chocolate cake...check! "Bon Voyage" stateroom decoration kit...check! "Happy Birthday" memory box...check. Then, there is the massage coupon, that is being delivered to my room, so I can give it to her, on her actual birthday. And, of course, a birthday cake, being delivered to our dinner table, on the night of her birthday. After I hung up with Carnival, I looked at the party favor bags, to be given to all who are going.
Yep...it was all good.
I, being the overly-anal, control freak, had thought of EVERYTHING!
So, logically, I should have been done. Logically, today should have been my day with yarn.
Well...when does "logic" ever REALLY work out?
"I have to go shopping," my Mother told me, as I was finishing my second cup. "I need to get a few more things. I want you to go, with me."
How could I say no?
So...without a single second to even look at my yarn, I was on my way, to town.
Here it is, 4pm. I just got home. I have spent the whole damned (miserably HOT) day, shopping. I helped my mom pick out final outfits. I told her what outfits looked good. And, a few times, I had to tell her that a certain outfit she picked, hurt worse than a hangover. (This is why she wanted me to go. I am brutally friggin honest.)
Now, after spending all day out in the sun, I am in no mood to crochet. I am suffering from a headache that is just not natural, in any way. My patience is not just shot. IT IS GONE, ALTOGETHER!
I am afraid that, if I start working on my afghan, I may go full-out psycho, when I encounter the tiniest of hiccups.
And, of course, tomorrow, I will have no time to crochet. We are going leaving home, relatively early. We will be staying with my Aunt. That way, come Monday, we can get up, and just go.
So, sadly...there will be no yarn time, before the cruise.
As for tomorrow's entry. Well...tomorrow, my entry will be great. You will all be getting the pattern, for the Halloween Bag. Then, that will be it. After tomorrow's entry, The Yarn Project's blog will be on a one week break.
I hope you guys don't foget me, while I am out, with my family...having a total blast.
So, that is it, for today.
I am getting cross-eyed, staring at my computer screen.
Happy crocheting!
