it was a lot of fun to go downtown and see the "spelling bee."
i can see why you liked it so much.
im glad we got to go see it. oh wait.
it was really funny. i enjoyed it thoroughly.
greg [alan] convinced me to sign to try and be on stage and be one of the spellers.
we both signed up and it was pretty cool. we saw some of the sound check and it felt like i was at an audition kinda.
they said they usually ask like forty people to sign up, but only four are chosen.
and guess what freaking happened?
i got chosen!
it was so cool. definitely a ton of fun. we got to go backstage and they gave us this lil speech thing.
we were only supposed to be ourselves and try to spell our best. we were not supposed to "ham anything up"
or create a new character. we HAD to ask for the definition and for the word to be used in a sentence before we could spell.
they gave us a pin to wear and stuff. after the first song they call you up by name and say you havent registered yet.
they give you a number like the other characters and they pretty much grab you and tell you where to go. it was cool. i love being on stage. i miss it terribly.
the first of the four audience members to get called up was asked to spell the word jihad which was so funny because
greg had been working on this ten page paper about the koran and referred to the paper as his jihad, or struggle.
it was pretty funny that was the word and i laughed so hard and looked to where our seats were. i would have wanted that word! lol
i knew how to spell it. but i was the second audience person to be called up.
they said i was an aspiring designer and recently got kicked off of project runway for designing the outfit i was wearing.
it was pretty funny. they then asked me to spell the word ragsplawger, which im pretty sure is not in the dictionary. lol
but i was mad that was the word i got. i spelled it ragsplauger, so i was the first one to be eliminated. and the other audience people
got mexicans and cow for their next word so i was a lil upset but whatever. it was just cool to say i was up there. good times.
this time tomorrow i will be waiting patiently for my best friends to arrive. this weekend will be amazing. i could not be more excited.
i have a headache. and school never really gets any better. sooo much all the time. but its allll good. and i was relieved by my mother and dont need to worry as much as i previously was. phew. two weeks from today is thanksgiving! and i will be home. soooo excited.
but yeah. i guess im still scared. or will be for a while. i might write a letter. and never send it. rough stuff. but whatevs. all of my work will be happily awaiting me on sunday. but for now.. its time for a public affair. hell yes bitches.
