Forgot about me. :) I’m doing ok. The palpitations stopped for the last few days, then started up again last night. Not too many, just here and there. Same went for today too.
We decided to do some yard work this weekend, because the backyard desperately needs some help. There were these trees that decided to sprout against the back fence last year, and were really annoying me, so I decided they needed to come out. Then there’s the bad, bad case of ivy we have growing alone the old wire fence and the shed. So I decided to tackle most of that while Jon was digging up the root from one of the bush/tree’s that we had cut down.
Today we decided to trim all the forsythia bushes (3 total). We have 1 monster of a bush on the side of the house, that in all actuality, needs to come out. It butts right up against 1 of the propane tanks and usually by the end of summer it’s almost covering it. So we started trimming it, and got a bit carried away, so I had Jon just cut the thing down. It’s not completely gone, but what’s left is about 3 ft high. We figure next weekend we’ll chop down the rest and get the root out as well. The other bush that needs to come out is at the corner of the house, about 5 ft away from the other. It’s completely wrapped in honey suckle, all through the roots around the base and everything. That might be tacked on next weekends project too. I really like the forsythia’s, but man, do they spread like weeds!
I have to get some final measurements down and get the deck plans submitted to the town and county so we can start working on that as well. It’s going to be 1 busy summer for house projects. We also need to rebuild the retaining wall next to the driveway because the dirt behind it is starting to erode. Pretty soon the driveway is going to wash right through it!
I prolly did too much this weekend (hence why the pvc’s came back), but it felt good to get out and get some yard work done. We slacked off on the yard last year, so it’s in need of some TLC. My body is exhausted, that’s for sure.
Time to get some work done and then head to bed!
