Hey, Marvel Films...

Fine work you've been doing... but just so we understand each other:

Thunder God
Not

Alexander Skarsgård

Big Roll: Eric Northman... Viking Vampire
He's only 6'4 but he looks 7 foot tall... he has serious presence, makes sense, his dad Stellan has managed to pull off bookish douchebag more than once and STILL be intimidating.

Speaking of Stellan, the elder Swede IS in Thor.

Apparently Alex tested for the roll.

Are you kidding me? How did THAT go... "Hmmm... you know, having a giant gorgeous Swede whose native tongue is nordic (who can likely say Mjolnir better than anyone in Hollywood) and whose last name is Skarsgård... and whose current job is to play a THOUSAND YEAR OLD VIKING... that just doesn't feel right. Lets go with the Australian!" Seriously... it has an Å! Respect!
Chris Hemsworth

Big Roll: Awesome 5 minutes as Kirk's Dad. I love this guy, but that doesn't make him Thor.
He is 6'3" which is NOT a good thing.... why? That makes Hemsworth shorter than me, the Odinson is not shorter than me.

Here's the biggest problem... look at the Thunder God in that lame-ass Bryan-"you can't do traditional super hero costumes in a movie"-Singer outfit... He's emoting a lot. Props to Chris Hemsworth for getting so much emotion in a still...

He looks a little sad, a little concerned, and honestly... downtrodden.

But... uhm... emo much? THIS IS THE MIGHTY MOTHERFUCKING THOR!

Herc might look like that... for a second... between beers at the Avenger's Mansion... but not Thor.

His head is always high, when he's almost dead, he's STILL A VIKING.

Grumble.

Well... It isn't "The Mighty Thor" then its "The Very Reasonable Thor" which I suppose could be good, what about writing and directing.

Directed By Kenneth Branagh: He directed Frankenstein, so... as long as he doesn't try to make Thor to complex (or more accurately have his complexity overshadow his Thorness).
Written By Ashley Miller (Fringe, so... you know... mad props)
Written By Don Payne (He wrote for the Simpson's, good for a laugh then... and... and ... DEAR GOD NO... Fantastic Four Rise of the Surfer... Noooooooo!)

Well... sigh... Its not like they let Ang Lee direct an Incredible Hulk movie or anything...

movies, comics
