I'm with you in Rocklin

I'm living with Kevin, and in the singing walk to campus this morning in my sandals and the sun, I thought about the last month post Australia:

the last week has been surprisingly good, of course seeing Kelley Neumann for the first time in 11 years was a definite highlight. We rafted down the river together, played in the water, pushing each other out and hunting for blackberries along the shore. Then went off and met her family and extended family at a party, wonderful people. Couldn't help catching those glances thrown towards me, and oh do they make me smile. Make me wonder: What am I doing in Rocklin, California with a plate full of baked beans and broccoli salad, talking to Bonnie Neumann? A heavenly day, however. Got to interact with a real American family. After an end to that in the parking lot of Denny's, I traded her company for my parents and slept under the stars in Coloma. went sailing in the Bay out around Angel Island and the Gate Bridge the next day with a relative, then back to the new house with Kevy and Cory, and big D. We talk about girls and relationships.

I'm back into the swing of things here. moving bodies on sproul and the feeling that good is occuring here. People are getting off their ass and making something of the world on Sproul, getting into something besides game shows and texas hold'em. Even Yoshua shouting that all non-Jews are going to hell. At least he has something in him, and he is living, going, creating something. He is trying. And that is the best that we can hope for, to see YOU on the streets with something to say and be.
